General Tools: Word Add-In

A look into our General tools in the Word Add-In including Chat and Proofread.

Written by Kristian Shirallie

Select the StrongSuit logo in the top right corner of your Microsoft Word application to open the Word Add In.

General Tools

1. Chat:

Within the chat, you will see a drop down menu that allows you to switch between Regular Chat and Live Editing.

Regular Chat is used for general tasks such as analyzing a document, flagging issues, or asking questions.

Live Editing allows you to edit a document directly based on the information you provide in the chat.

Your chat history is automatically saved and displayed on the left side of the screen.

You can start a new chat at any time and return to previous chats whenever you need.

2. Proofread:

Our proofread feature allows you to review your document using multiple tools designed to improve clarity, accuracy, and overall quality.

There is a drop down menu that lets you choose what you want to review in a specific document, including grammar, content, brevity, and cohesion. There is also an option to enter custom instructions for how you would like the document reviewed, as long as the request relates to the selected review type.

You can adjust the AI Strength toggle to control how detailed the review is. Moving the toggle to the left focuses on critical and major issues only, while moving it to the right reviews all issues in the document. The default setting is critical and major issues.

Once you select the type of proofreading you want, you can choose to review the entire document or highlight a specific section for review.

Once you review the comments from the Word add-in, you can confirm the changes by selecting Confirm in the bottom right corner of the add-in.

Any content written or reviewed in the Word add-in must be saved locally. Changes are not saved automatically to the platform.

For any questions about this workflow, you can start a chat by clicking the support bubble in the bottom right corner of your screen. We are happy to help!
